WOW / RELEASE NOTES

Wow
Release notes

0.5.0-beta.3

The Wow / Flutter slider now runs from Wow on the left to Flutter on the right, the same direction as its parameter and host automation. Before, the editor drew it the other way round. WOW and FLUTTER labels mark its two ends, and the host still shows the exact balance, such as 90/10.

New instances open at the editor zoom you last chose. A saved project still reopens at the zoom it was saved with.

Parameters, automation mappings and saved state are unchanged from 0.5.0-beta.2. Existing projects and automation sound the same.

0.5.0-beta.2

On Linux, the editor now opens at the right size on desktops that scale X11 apps, such as KDE Plasma at 200%. Before, the host window kept the unscaled size and cut off the enlarged editor. In VST3 hosts, the window can open small and then grow to fit.

Parameters, automation mappings and saved state are unchanged from 0.5.0-beta.1.

0.5.0-beta.1

Wow, Weft and Inton now share one release version. These plugins are still maturing; sound, controls and automation mappings may change between beta releases. Keep the previous plugin version and a backup of existing projects before updating.

  • Independent host-tempo sync for Wow and Flutter, selected with Hz or the quarter-note symbol beside each rate. Switching modes keeps the speed close to its previous setting.
  • A circular Phase dial with smooth automation and transport anchoring for synced oscillators. Adjust stereo spread with its orange degree value or Alt-drag on the dial.
  • A Wow / Flutter slider whose fill shows the Wow share.
  • Corner-drag resizing from 50% to 200%, with the chosen size restored when reopening the editor, and updated host integration.

Existing projects

Existing parameter identities and automation mappings stay the same. The former L/R Phase Offset is now stereo spread. Older saved states open with both rates in free Hz and the new common phase offset at zero. Existing Wow / Flutter automation keeps its meaning.

If you used a development build with tempo sync, check any sound that depended on a free-running synced phase. Playback starts, loops, seeks and division changes now anchor synced oscillators to song position.

0.4.0-beta.1

  • Updated interface colours and controls.
  • Fixed CLAP automation and modulation timing.

Shared fixes

  • CLAP automation events now retain their position within the audio block.
  • State loading checks incoming data as it arrives, avoiding large allocations based on an invalid size.

0.1.1-beta.3

  • Fixed interface zoom and window resizing in macOS hosts.
  • Added a universal macOS archive for Apple Silicon and Intel.
  • Includes correctly named Oiko Wow CLAP and VST3 bundles.

0.1.1-beta.2

  • Added interface scaling from 50% to 200%. Click OIKO AUDIO in the top row to set it.
  • The selected scale is restored when the plug-in reopens.
  • Added separate macOS CLAP and VST3 builds for Apple Silicon and Intel.

0.1.1-beta.1

First public beta.

  • Slow wow and fast flutter modulation with a constant-power blend.
  • Repeatable drift and stereo phase offset.
  • Draft, Normal, HQ, and Ultra quality modes.
  • Rate-scaled and Constant pitch-range modes.
  • Mono and stereo CLAP and VST3 builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
