Draw and animate a spectral mask, or play it with MIDI notes. It can add movement without being surgical, work at individual bins when needed, pull tonal pads from dense audio and long reverbs, or act as a spectral vocoder.

Manual
What it does
Weft is a drawable, MIDI-playable FFT spectral mask. It is an audio effect, not an instrument: it reshapes audio already passing through it and does not produce sound from a silent input.
Audio and note routing
Insert Weft on a track or bus carrying audio. Pin notes from the pitch ruler without host routing, or route MIDI and note events into the same track as the effect. Both methods can be used together.
Draw the mask
Drag in the spectrum display to set gain directly at the current FFT bins. Horizontal position is logarithmic frequency; vertical position is gain from 0 to −60 dB. Hovering reports the bin, frequency, nearest note, and cent offset.
FFT Resolution selects 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, or 16384 samples. Higher settings produce finer control and more latency.

- Note Depth
- Increases the influence of note input by attenuating other frequencies.
- Width
- Sets the bloom around each note in cents.
- Partials
- Adds up to 24 integer harmonics above each note fundamental.
- Partial Rolloff
- Reduces upper partial levels per octave.
- Attack / Release
- Smooths changes to the note mask.
- Hold / Reset
- Latches incoming notes or clears the latch and manually pinned notes.
Note expression
In CLAP hosts, Weft accepts native per-note tuning, pressure, volume, vibrato, brightness, and expression. Tuning moves the note centre, pressure changes its influence, and brightness or expression changes the partial rolloff.
For MPE-style MIDI input, Weft also follows per-channel pitch bend, channel pressure, and CC74 timbre. Exact routing and event support depend on the host.
Spectral motion
Motion always stays at or below the curve you drew. Ripple, Harmonic, Drift, Scan, Notch, and Saw provide different movement shapes. Rate can run in hertz or follow host tempo; Phase, Size, Direction, and Motion Depth set the movement.
Freeze curve
Freeze captures the current drawn curve, motion, pinned notes, and held live notes into a new static curve. Motion Depth and Note Depth return to zero. Unfreeze restores the previous drawn curve and note state.

- How do I change the interface size?
- Click OIKO AUDIO in the top row of the plug-in, then choose an Interface Scale value from 50% to 200%.
- Where do I install it?
- Copy either or both plug-in bundles into the matching folder, restart the DAW, then rescan plug-ins.macOS

- No. The first builds are unsigned and the macOS builds are not notarized. macOS and Windows may ask you to allow the plug-in before the host can scan it.
Beta notes
Resolution changes clear the STFT buffers and briefly output silence. MIDI changes are collected once per host audio block. Sustain-pedal handling is not included in the first public beta.
